Home Opener at Fenway: Rays @ Red Sox, April 13th-15th, 2012
Red Sox Nation descended upon Boston for the 2012 Home Opener at Fenway Park. Red Sox Destinations fans were treated on Saturday to a VIP tour of Fenway, tickets to 2 games, hotel accommodations, Sox gift bags and a pre-game luncheon with Jarrod Saltalamacchia! The luncheon included a buffet, an autograph session, photo op and Q & A with Salty. His homer to center in Game 2 of the series was in their honor (well, we’d like to think so at least).
A flyover from F-16s, the American Flag drop over the Green Monster and clear April skies augmented a historic Opening Day as the Red Sox are celebrating 100 years of “Boston’s Summer Home”! One fan got the package for her son’s birthday and wrote, “It was by far the best trip ever. Each time we thought it couldn’t get any better, like walking into the green monster, they came up with something even more amazing. He loved waking into Don & Jerry’s booth and having his picture taken with a player, and the World Series rings! It was honestly an unforgettable weekend, and my son is still thanking me for the best birthday ever.”
