Twins @ Red Sox, August 3rd-5th, 2012
Minnesota came to Fenway in August for their only visit in 2012 and brought some strong pitching to the mound on Thursday and Friday. The Red Sox made it interesting on Saturday taking it to extras with help from Carl Crawford (who was a triple away from the cylce), only to fall short on Jamey Carroll’s 4th hit of the ball game in the 10th inning. The Old Town Team avoided the sweep with a 6-4 win on sunday thanks to some clutch hitting from A-Gon and a solid outing from Franklin Morales. Red Sox Destinations fans enjoyed the action from great seats on the Pavilion level and some unparalleled access to Americ’a Most Beloved Ballpark. They went inside the Green Monster, in the Royal Rooter’s Club, press box and had a lunch reception in the EMC club with Mike Aviles! Mike took pictures, signed autographs and simply was an electric presence in the room. All of our fans enjoyed the great accomodations at the Marriott Copley, the amazing August weather and a great weekend of baseball in Boston!

Fenway’s 100th Anniversary Weekend: Yankees @ Red Sox, April 20th-22nd, 2012
Emotions were high and the nostalgia was prevalent during the pre-game ceremonies on April 20th, 2012. Like a scene from Field of Dreams (without the corn stalks and Costner), over 200 Red Sox Legends walked out of the center field wall one at a time. Names like Martinez, Pesky, Fisk and Garciaparra appeared to seemingly endless cheers from the crowd. The ceremony concluded with a World Record Breaking Toast to Fenway (Welch’s juice provided) and a flyover by an F-16 and a WWII-era P-51 Mustang. Red Sox Destinations fans came from 25 states and 4 countries for Fenway’s 100th Anniversary Weekend and had an absolute blast. In addition to all the events in the package (great tickets, hotel, VIP Tour of Fenway and pictures with the World Series trophies and rings), we had a pre-game reception featuring starting shortstop Mike Aviles! See below for Mike’s Tweet about our fans following the reception and more pictures from Fenway’s Birthday Weekend!

Home Opener at Fenway: Rays @ Red Sox, April 13th-15th, 2012
Red Sox Nation descended upon Boston for the 2012 Home Opener at Fenway Park. Yes, it was Friday the 13th and no, there were no whispers of bad luck as the Sox showed promise and gave the Fenway Faithful a 12-2 rout of the Tampa Bay Rays. Red Sox Destinations fans were treated on Saturday to a VIP tour of Fenway, tickets to 2 games, hotel accommodations, Sox gift bags and a pre-game luncheon with Jarrod Saltalamacchia! The luncheon included a buffet, an autograph session, photo op and Q & A with Salty. His homer to center in Game 2 of the series was in their honor (well, we’d like to think so at least).
A flyover from F-16s, the American Flag drop over the Green Monster and clear April skies augmented a historic Opening Day as the Red Sox are celebrating 100 years of “Boston’s Summer Home”! One fan got the package for her son’s birthday and wrote, “It was by far the best trip ever. Each time we thought it couldn’t get any better, like walking into the green monster, they came up with something even more amazing. He loved waking into Don & Jerry’s booth and having his picture taken with a player, and the World Series rings! It was honestly an unforgettable weekend, and my son is still thanking me for the best birthday ever.”
